How are you today? ...hope you're feeling just fine. If not, I can help.

No mystery or magic to it, and you're in complete control throughout.1

Who I am

Hi, my name's Sally, and I'm looking forward to meeting you.

I work face to face on the Gloucester Road in north central Bristol, and online. I've been around the block a few times, and I've had first-hand experience of how tough life's challenges can be.2

I studied Solution Focused Hypnotherapy at The Clifton Practice. I'm a member of, and former Head of Communications for, the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, and I make the Talking Solutions podcast.

I'm a certified trauma-informed coach. I've facilitated self-management groups for people facing a broad range of issues, and I've worked with people identifying as autistic for nearly thirty years.

I'm a down-to-earth sort, and I bring warmth and humour to our sessions. I'll be your coach and cheerleader.

What solution focused hypnotherapy is

We don't go back over the past. We talk about what you'd rather have instead, and we build on the things you already do well. There's no need to revisit old pain to get somewhere.

The initial consultation includes a short explanation of how the brain works, which people often find useful. After that, sessions follow a regular shape: your week, what you noticed, what you'd like more of. Then thirty minutes of trance — music on, nothing to do but let the words wash over you. Sessions are often full of smiles and laughter.

  1. Best hopes, first

The free consultation is about what you'd like to be different. Share as much or as little as is useful to you.

  2. Thirty minutes of trance

Time set aside to put everything down. If your head is busy, it's long enough for even the chattiest head-monkey to switch off.

  3. Something to take away

A free mp3 to listen to between sessions, and for as long afterwards as you want it.

What it costs

Initial consultation, online
free
Initial consultation, face to face
£10
Each session after that
£70
Block bookings
reduced

“£70 is around the hourly labour rate for a garage, or a parking ticket.”

How I think about the fee

I wish this was available on the NHS — then I could see everyone who needs me. Until that happens it's a private service, so I keep the costs as low as I reasonably can.

The rate you start on stays your rate for as long as you keep coming. It only moves to the current rate after a break of six weeks or more.

Writing and listening

Talking Solutions is my podcast: conversations about solution focused practice, and relaxation sessions you can listen to between appointments. It's how I explain the approach when a page isn't long enough.

I also write short, plain notes about the things people bring to sessions: anxiety, sleep, habits, stress, the brain on a bad day. They live under Wellbeing tips on my site, and there are a lot of them.

“On and off for many years I have been dealing with general anxiety, holiday anxiety, feelings of emotional blockage, overwhelm and unresolved grief…”
